After this visit you will enjoy the scenic drive along the Amalfi Coast in order to reach the next destination, Sorrento. You will enjoy the roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes drive through the twists and turns of this incredibly beautiful road, making several stops along the way for photos.
Sorrento, located in a wonderful area of the coast, is the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll or splurge on shopping, especially in the historic centre. There you will find many small boutiques offering everything from leather goods, ceramics, jewellery and all things lemon.
The last stop of this memorable excursion will be in Positano. “The Jewel of the Amalfi Coast” will enchant you with its breathtaking panoramas, the unique maze of alleys and steps, and its small shops displaying the typical products of local crafts, such as hand-made leather sandals, linen dresses, and ceramics.
Please note that as Positano is mostly a pedestrian-only area, the driver will accompany you to the last point accessible by vehicle - Parking Mandara. You will then explore Positano by foot. We do want to advise that this part of the tour requires a moderate level of walking up and down steps as well as inclines and declines.
After your visit of Positano, your driver will escort you back to Amalfi port.

You will board our semi-private boat directly in Amalfi port.
You will sail along the picturesque Amalfi Coast and eventually find yourself admiring the views of the coastline often seen only in postcards. Your day on this private boat will allow you to experience the area from a completely different perspective than that offered by a driving tour of the area.
You will see the most beautiful part of the Amalfi Coast including: Isola dei Li Galli, Praiano and Positano. You will have about 1-1.5 hours in Positano, to explore this famous town on your own.
While on the boat you will have a chance to enjoy the beauty of the area as many locals do, with the opportunity to swim in the famous blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea or soak up the sun onboard (weather permitting).
Also included in your day on this private boat are snacks, soft drinks, and a tasting of the Amalfi Coast’s famous limoncello on the way back to Amalfi port.

After Pompeii, you will continue on to the next destination of the day: Sorrento. Driving along the coastal road, you will have plenty of opportunities to capture photos of the magnificent coastline. You will have free time in Sorrento, the perfect time for lunch (your driver will give you suggestions about where to eat) or to take a walk in this beautiful resort town. You will meet one of our skippers at the tender pier of Amalfi port and you will board our semi-private boat.

You will visit an old olive oil mill in Sorrento countryside, the Gargiulo Olive Oil Factory, where you will learn all the secrets about this golden treasure. You will also taste about 15 different types of extra virgin olive oil served with freshly baked bread.
With your palate now awakened, you will continue on to the next culinary experience of this shore excursion, a local mozzarella factory where you will see how this delicious cheese is made. Here you will also taste several freshly produced goods.
You will then reach a local restaurant where an expert pizza chef will teach you how to make a traditional Neapolitan pizza. You will start with the dough, then add the various toppings and finally bake the pizza in a traditional wood oven. The tour will start a relaxing drive uphill along a very narrow road passing by several wineries and olive factories which will lead us to Ravello. This rural village completely unspoilt by tourism, is perched on top of the mountain cliff situated above Amalfi and Minori.
Ravello is famous for its breath-taking views, natural beauty and ancient monuments and these are seen at their very best in the stunning gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. In high season, these gardens are rich in the heady perfume of blooming flowers and sweet scent of lemons. Ravello is also denominated THE CITY OF THE MUSIC, here Richard Wagner composed his opera Parsifal.
After Ravello, you will drive approximately 1 hour before you reach the second stop of your tour: Pompeii, part of an ancient Roman city destroyed and buried by the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
The remainder of the uncovered city is buried under the new Pompeii rebuilt many years after the eruption. Archeological excavations are open to the public between the hours of 08:30 and 18:30 every day of the week, and either guides can be hired at the entrance or audioguides can be rented, with voice recordings in many languages to explain the sites.
Please note that since Pompeii is a popular area for tourists, we strongly recommend being cautious of your belongings and leave valuables at your ship! We would also advise that you take plenty of water, especially in the summer months and ensure you are either well covered or well slathered in sun cream as there is very little shade in which to escape the sun.
After Pompei, you will drive to Positano on the famous Amalfi Coast.
you will find yourself driving down-hill directly through Positano where you will descend down the winding one-way road, passing by many picturesque houses and shops, and ultimately arrive in the heart of the town, at “Piazza dei Mulini”. This is the last point accessible by car, so here is where your driver will park and you will walk downtown where all the streets lead to the waterfront. Here you can have about one hour to discover this beautiful village denominated “The Jewel of The Amalfi Coast”.
Positano has beautiful things to see: the cathedral, ceramic shops, lemons, hand-made shoes and, of course, “Positano fashion”.
After your time in Positano, you will continue along the Amalfi Coast road as you return to the port in Amalfi.

Your first stop of the day will be Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano responsible for the destruction of Herculaneum and Pompeii in 79 A.D. You will have time to trek up to the crater and enjoy the breathtaking views of Naples Bay area. We will stop at the last accesible point by vehicle and from there there is a 15-20 minutes hike to reach the top.
You will then visit Herculaneum. The eruption of Mt. Vesuvius left this town of Greek origins covered by a deep layer of hot mud which hardened and perfectly preserved the houses, shops, villas and frescoes beneath. You will have the chance to admire thousands of everyday life objects here, from pieces of furniture to fruits and small pieces of jewelry!
You will then continue on to the final destination of the day, Pompeii, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. This ancient Roman town is almost completely intact as it was deeply buried by ash and rocks during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, giving present-day visitors the chance to stroll around millenia-old streets and to visit old houses, temples and amphitheatres.
Please note that since Pompeii and Herculaneum are popular tourist areas, we strongly recommend being cautious of your belongings and that you leave valuables on the ship! We would also advise that you bring plenty of water, especially in the summer months, and that you are protected against the hot sun, as there is very little shade inside the sites.
